Welcome to Mountain View Highlands! We are Ryan & Jenna Schaefer and we live on the Front Range of Colorado in Berthoud. We have a passion for breeding and raising exceptional registered Scottish Highland Cattle. Our cattle are all registered through The American Highland Cattle Association.
Why Scottish Highland Cattle?
Yes, Scottish Highland Cattle are well known for their stunning appearance, long hair, horns and doscile personalities. Highland cows make extremely attentive mothers, while Highland Bulls are known to be gentle giants. Scottish Highland cattle render some of the best beef in the world. Their meat is lean, tender and well-marbled, all while being lower in fat and cholesterol compared to conventional breeds.
Our Approach
Our desire, and yet another reason we take such tremendous pride in what we produce is because of our hands-on approach with each head in our fold as soon as possible, building trust and creating a bond with each one, not just in our breeding program, but yes, in our beef program too.
